I chose Yatu Lau Lagoon Resort primarily because of its convenient location right next to the dive shop, and for that purpose it was ideal. It is a little removed from the other resorts, the shops at the Art Village and the bus stop, so a vehicle or taxi is useful if you want to get out and about. Having read previous reviews before arriving, I had a reasonable idea of what to expect. Yatu Lau is perhaps best described as a grand old lady that is now showing a few wrinkles with age. It is certainly not a modern resort, but it is clean and tidy, and I found everything to be functional and well maintained. When I stayed, the resort was very quiet, with only a handful of guests. There were no large, noisy groups or functions, which made it a particularly peaceful place to stay. Obviously, this may vary depending on when you visit, but during my stay the quiet atmosphere was a definite plus. There are some modern necessities that are missing, such as power points next to the bed and a room safe, but these were minor inconveniences rather than anything that affected my stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I only ventured out to another restaurant once during my stay, and honestly felt that Yatu Lau served the better food. The staff were consistently warm, friendly and welcoming, which added considerably to the experience. My room was well looked after by housekeeping, and importantly, I had none of the issues mentioned in some of the older reviews regarding hot water or things not working. Everything worked fine throughout my stay. The grounds were clean and well looked after, and the pool appeared clean and well maintained, although I didn't actually use it. Overall, Yatu Lau suited me very well as a base for my diving trip. It may be showing its age, but the friendly staff, surprisingly good food, clean and functional accommodation, peaceful atmosphere and extremely convenient location made for a very enjoyable stay. If you arrive knowing that this is an older property rather than expecting a modern resort, I think you'll find it a comfortable and pleasant place to stay.

Enjoyed my time, the location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were okay, could use some upgrades. Overall good value for money.

Came for family wedding, booked 04 rooms. Value for money, facilities were good with free breakfast, pool n river for fishing (caught 02 med size), great shower and best beds. Building old with some parts renovated while others still needing some care n upgrade. Navua town was a nice surprice and will come again

We enjoyed our stay at Yatu Lau Lagoon Resort. The staff were warm and welcoming, and while the room was basic, it was clean. The beach access was great, providing a relaxing and beautiful setting. Although the resort is too far to walk from the main road, taxis were readily available at about $4 per ride, making transport easy. Communication after booking could be improved, and some maintenance and upgrades would further enhance the overall experience.

If you're looking for a silent getaway then this is the best place, just the food at the restaurant isn't recommended. Also taxi options are limited so make sure that you have preplanned your stay.
