Princess Senses The Mangrove Resort - Adults Only

I chose Princess Senses The Mangrove for my 35th birthday, booking a Pleasure Suite for myself and a Deluxe Suite for my best friend. While the staff are wonderful, the resort infrastructure does not justify the high price point. Having stayed at Couples Sans Souci, Couples Tower Isle, and RIU Montego Bay, I have a clear benchmark for Jamaican hospitality. This property currently feels like a mid-range experience at a luxury cost. THE SAVING GRACE: THE STAFF The staff are the only reason I am giving 3 stars; they are working incredibly hard despite the resort’s structural shortcomings. Special recognition goes to: * Guest Services/Front Desk: Evelyn, Omar, Treneil, and Tashay. * Bellmen: Nicolas, Romane, and Trevine. * Dining & Bar: Jodian, Kayon, and Shauna Kay (Buffet), and Kemar, Timoy, and Kemoy (Bartenders). They were the highlight of my stay. THE ROOM & FACILITIES (Pleasure Suite) The craftsmanship in the suite felt rushed and poorly executed: * Structural/Safety Issue: The room door was installed too low to the floor. It had to be forced open and manually checked every time to ensure it actually closed—a significant security and privacy concern. * Climate & Plumbing: The AC was ineffective, never cooling the room below 23°C (73.4°F). I eventually gave up and slept with the balcony doors open. Furthermore, the shower took an excessive amount of time to reach a usable temperature. * Lack of Amenities: There are no hot tubs on the property, and the spa's hot plunge requires an extra fee. Unlike the Couples or RIU experience, there was no liquor provided in the room (only two Red Stripe beers in the mini-fridge), and many bar spirits required an upcharge. LOGISTICS & BIRTHDAY EXPERIENCE This was a milestone trip, yet it took three separate visits to the front desk over five days to finally have my request for a 4th-floor room honored. Additionally, the "Pleasure Kit"—which is meant to be a signature, complimentary feature of the suite I paid for—had to be requested over two different days before it finally arrived. FINAL VERDICT I regret spending 5-star money for 2.5-star accommodations. The staff is exceptional, but the building feels cheaply built and the "all-inclusive" experience is far too limited. Management needs to align the property quality with the premium price they are charging.

Nice hotel but the beach was not good.Spacious and beautiful rooms with a lovely view.

Very quiet environment, very smiley and friendly staff. Paula-Ann at the front desk was the very best!!! She helped me effortlessly with everything.. Options for food great.. If you want peace and quiet stay at Mangrove. The property is huuuggeee... I could set in isolation and quietness at many points. The beach was never fussy. I will return.

Second time there and would definitely go again

Offered outstanding value for the money. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience, providing everything you need for relaxation and enjoyment. Overall it was a fantastic stay. I am Looking forward to return returning.
