Agora, Doha, Autograph Collection

The price was more than I wanted to pay but okay for just 2 nights we stayed. It is more space than a couple would need. This set up is popular in Asia like in KL Hotel apartment combo. But you cannot accommodate more than 2 unless extra guests want to sleep in the sofa with no privacy. This place is deluxe for many but not first class. Service was excellent and attentive. Roof top pool is nice and sunny. Nicer than WA next door which is shady in the afternoon. Gym is reasonable Location is not in central 30 minute drive from busy souk. Next to luxurious mall Place de Vendome Doha is expanding and new area like this can be attractive to some people. Also next to WA. Uber is cheap.

Having booked for 12 nights at the Agora, I arrived to a warm welcome at check in by several staff. The room I stayed in was upgraded to a sea view, and on first viewing was large, including most amenities required for a multiple days stay, with kitchen, washing machine, dryer and dishwasher amongst. A rooftop pool and gym and ground floor restaurant are the main offerings as the hotels amenities that are offered. Unfortunately on the 2nd full day, the US/Iran conflict broke out and influenced the services available, including closure of the pool, both in and outside the hotel. Also Ramadan was taking place, which again restricted a large amount of amenities operating outside of the hotel. The hotel staff were all very friendly and professional during this time, evoking a calm and relaxed state. The circumstances of the time of the visit wasn't ideal, and a visit during a more normalised times would have shown the hotel and surrounding location off in a different light. Qatar Tourism offered anyone whose flights were cancelled due to the conflict, free room and food, which I undertook for an extra 2 days due to flight cancellations. The hotel, staff and the state of Qatar conducted themselves in an exemplary manner in such a time.
