Met Hotel

A very good value hotel, we highly enjoyed our stay there, perhaps the best quality and value hotel across our journey in Bolivia and Peru, highky recommend! Minor things to improve as a 5-star hotel: * Wider breakfast selection * Jacuzzi to be at 37-40C range rather than 30-32C * Provide more amenities in the room without the need to request for it - hair dryer, mugs, robe

Good location for your first day in La Paz for acclimatizing to altitude sickness. Although not close to travel attractions, the staffs here are excellent. Very professional, dressed in formal suits, they are willing to help you at all costs. Great thanks from S.Korea

I had a few issues during my stay at the MET. Firstly, the air con in my room was broken, so somebody came to look at it - they couldn't fix it but said they would get their supervisor and be back in 15 minutes. An hour later, they hadn't returned, so I called reception and, after calling a second time, someone else finally came to look. They couldn't get it to work either, so they moved me to another room - which was actually an upgrade - and which I very much appreciated. The issue with that room was that the phone didn't work, so if I needed anything, I had to go down to reception to ask - which wasn't that big of a deal, except when I had to ask for something multiple times, like when I asked for a hairdryer. Some of the staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful, while others were not. In the spa area, there were signs that suggested wearing bath robes and slippers - but neither of these were things that were supplied in the room, even though I would typically expect them in a 5* hotel. Likewise, the mini bar was unstocked and, as previously mentioned, there was as no hair dryer in the room. There also wasn't any info about the hotel (for instance, I was very surprised to discover when I tried to get a drink one night that the bar closed at 22:30!), or the surrounding area in the room, which would have been helpful. Lastly, the breakfast is very good but doesn't start until 06:30, so if you have an early flight or bus, as I did, and you have to leave before that, you're left not just feeling hungry but also like you didn't really get everything you paid for. There are lots of nice aspects to the hotel - comfy bed, clean rooms, hot showers with good water pressure - but definitely room for improvement

We stayed here during nye after traveling around Bolivia and the team went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. They have a decently sized gym and spa, but what really stood out was the restaurant and restaurant staff. The food was way above average Bolivian standard, and the staff, especially Michael/Misael!!!! did an amazing job. Super charming & told us a bunch about Bolivian culture. If I’d to critique something it would be the front desk service when ordering a car. We clearly stated we wanted a big/nicer car, we ended up waiting over 30 min and the one we got didn’t have seatbelts, the driver had to keep on whipping his windshield with a cloth…and on top it was DOUBLE the price of what a taxi through uber would have been. Sad to leave it off on a bitter note as you’d expect this high standard hotel to work with a high standard taxi service. If we’ll be back in La Paz, we’d def consider staying here again.
