Graves Mountain Farm & Lodges

Sort of last minute booking choice but fondly remembered family trips way back in the 70's and lucked into a remaining room. Not to far to drive back from the Billy Strings show in Charlottesville (the one where he broke his leg skateboarding back for the encore. He's healing, 🙏) Anyway, Graves is the charm we learned we needed. Slept in and missed breakfast but made it onto the Whiteoak Canyon Trail, like 20 minutes away. The lodge is just as remembered and our room in Poplar rekindled both the warmth of childhood fall getaways and the nurturing of present day retreat for an old guy and his bride of 32 years. Definitely looking at a return visit though fall crowds might have the same in mind.
