The Suites – Piazza Kirkop

It’s 10 minutes away from the airport so it’s perfect for us staying 1 night to catch an early flight. The room was quite new and was a comfortable stay overall. Be mindful there is no front desk at the hotel though. Guests need to do self check in through the machine at the lobby. In my case no one from hotel had reached out to me in advance (even I booked this months ago) i have to call them on the day to ask for the check in details/ access code… it was a bit hectic and worrying as I don’t have a roaming phone plan while travelling.. Think it will be nice if they can make it clear on agoda description so their guests would be aware of this self check in process in advance and to know what to expect / what to do before arriving. Again in my case there were no communications from the hotel at all… Also the self check in process wasn’t smooth for us… the machine needs me to enter passport details for all 4 guests (or it won’t let me go to the next page) but keep rejecting the kids’ passport…

The room was very big, clean and perfect for our needs. Ana was very responsive and helped me with checking in to our room and organised a takeaway breakfast for us because we had an early flight. The service was fantastic and greatly appreciated. Really convenient being close to the airport, it was about a 20 minute walk. I would say, there aren't really any restaurants around so do eat before you arrive which is what we did.

Très bon hôtel pour une étape aéroport mais pas pour un long séjour

Perfect location in Malta, as it's close to most of the big cities. It's located in a charming neighborhood. Price is fantastic for the large penthouse room we stayed in. Bathroom is large, the balcony in perfect, and the terrace is large with tanning beds, hot tub, and a egg hanging chair. This is the best value we could find in Malta. There is no host onsite but are available via email/phone. Self check-in was easy, but you want to have all your info available prior. The sheets/pillow cases had a slight musty odor, but were visually spotless. Good shower. Bath looked nice but we didn't use it. The spaciousness of the room was the best in Malta. My major issue is with the lack of instructions for the hot tub, which looks great and was the main reason I booked hotel. I thought after dinner, we could just go for a hot tub and relax. Unbeknownst to me, when I lifted top and checked the temperature of the tub water, it was only 25.6 degrees. I had to google instructions to learn how to operate unit. Turns out, tub can take up to 8 hours for the temperature to reach 10 degree warmer. I tried anyhow and heated tub for 1.5 hours. Water temp only went up two degrees. As it was chilly at night, the water was too cold to use and never warmed up enough for a soak. This was really disappointing. This is something management should address. If you are renting a room with a hot tub, it should be ready to go. If not, they should inform the occupants that it takes hours to heat up, so come early. So if you are coming for the hot tub, your mileage may vary. We left early for the airport, so we did not get breakfast. Also know that the adjacent church rings bells on the quarter hour, at least during Easter.
