Oi Qaragai Mountain Resort

Resort compound is massive for all the activities but the accoms are concentrated in one part. The yurt is fancy, clean and nice. Staff helped you to carry your luggage to the yurt and back when you check out. Wifi is great. Resort takes payment onsite although card details were provided in app booking. Prepare cash & multiple cards in case their machine can’t read your card which happened to us. Female reception staff was not helpful. Language barrier. Only selected staff speaks English. No bidet in toilet but there’s a traditional water container(?) to use. Getting there through Yandex is way cheaper than getting a hotel pickup. Download Yandex app before arriving.

Very gd place to stays and the breakfast was awesome the room was clean and neet

We had an overall good stay. The location and experience were enjoyable and the staff was courteous. However, we were disappointed that basic amenities like drinking water was not provided. We had to order water bottles from resort’s restaurant which cost 10times higher price along with delivery charge! Small improvements like this would make a big difference.

Beside the room charge, almost everything in hotel area are need to pay, include playground (USD 20) and outdoor hot tub (USD 50 for 1 hour)

we travalled in July and the weather was hot during the day and cool at night. The place a good vibes given the vast greenery and lots of open spaces. But the good ends there. The staff and management are not trained enough or dont give much attention to customer happiness. The activities are many but all are paid and quite expensive. The restaurants are limited and again expensive. We were a group of 4 adults and 3 kids, we wanted to do one of the highlighted activities - Sky Swing. The place can be reached by first taking a shuttle bus (10mins), then a cable car (15 mins) and then a 10 mins walk in the open sun. First of all signs and directions are very poor and one has to keep asking or going around to figure out. Secondly taking the cable car is expensive (cost Kzt 8k per adults and kzt 4k per kid) . After taking all the trouble Nd reachingthe place, we were told that the sky swing is not working as there is kno electricity. We waited for 30mins but nothing. the person at the counter had no clue. The kids were frustrated tired and drained by the heat. We had no option but to go back and when we reached the cable car counter and demanded a refund, the person was rude and refused any refund. After hagling for almost an hour we were made to write a refund application!! after a lot of argument they refunded partially. It was a frustrating experience. The hotel management refused to refund fully and were of no help. Its an ok place if you want to go and relax but activites and managemet are hopeless
