Dar Baaziz

Stayed for two nights in Dar Baaziz. Room is beautiful and spacious. Breakfast was nice with some fresh fruits, local black coffee, sesame paste (yammlou like paste), home made jam, egg and bread. Bayrem was helpful and kind, helped with check-in, bfast preparation, and luggage storage. Air con in the room functioned flawless and placed thoughtful (not facing directly to the bed) Wifi and hot water also worked flawless. Room is clean. Bed is good - mid to hard level (suit my preference). I would recommend this place! I had dinner with a view at Restaurant Cafe Dar Amna, which is 4 min away from the Dar. The grilled fish is very recommended! Go there for sunset view on the roof top. 🙂

We absolutely loved out stay here. We stayed in early February, a time when Tunisia gets particularly cold at night yet the heating in the room was more than sufficient and we never ran out of piping hot water in the shower. The room was very spacious and elegantly designed, the rest of the building also had a great attention to detail. The room had working wifi and a TV, though we never used the TV. The place was very quiet during our stay even though we were in the heart of the Medina. The place is a bit tricky to find and the streets around get very dirty but this is not the fault of the hotel owners. The breakfast was always served on time, was very sugar dense if that's your thing but otherwise had all the calories you need to last you until lunch. We always left early in the morning to explore the surrounding cities. If you go in the summer there is a cosy rooftop terrace with a direct view of the castle on top of the hill. You're 5 minutes walk away from great cafes and restaurants and you can even order delivery. Overall it was a lovely stay, we highly recommend this venue.
