Our host was exceptional, she brought us some wine for drinks by the pool, with snacks & apple juice for the children, and accommodated my parents and my family with 2 children with thoughtfulness and patience. I would gladly stay here again and would highly recommend it! They also put on a fabulous breakfast spread- one of the best we’ve had whilst traveling around the Dordogne, Lot & midi-Pyrenees.

A week in the dordogne
Superb personal hosting from Wafah and Daniel. Breakfast fit for a king, Amazing garden. Easy walk to village with plenty of eating places and trips down the river. Easy reach of Lascaux, Sarlat, Domme and Bergerac airport.

Better than photos!!! Outstanding place!
Both Wafa and Daniel were the exceptional hosts - out doing themselves with the place, the food and their warm hospitality. We loved them and would consider them our friends. The place is absolutely gorgeous...better than the photos. Highly recommend this place. Location is perfect for day trips and returning to relax in afternoon....we loved it!

Stop looking- this is it
Gorgeous place. The pictures cannot do it justice. You can’t beat the location (basically in La Roque de Gageac, one of the prettiest places in the Perigord, 13 min from Sarlat), the chateau (beautifully restored, tastefully decorated with antiques but informal and unstuffy), the breakfast (over the top delicious), the gardens (meticulously kept, gorgeous against the backdrop of the cliffs) and the value (incredible for what you get). There’s no place I’d rather stay. Headed to Chateau de la Treyne next and although it looks impressive, I wonder if Malartrie isn’t more charming.
