Very helpful staff. Arrived very early before regular check-in time and were accommodated. Food was tasty and a fair price. Restaurant close at about 20:45-21:00. Nice terrace overlooking the river. Great for sunset shots. Rooms were old but very clean. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Air-con was nice and cold. Big bathroom with hot water and good pressure. Despite what it says on their profile, the bathroom is not a shared bathroom. The room I was in had an ensuite bathroom. Location of this hotel is good for walking the riverfront area in the evening without the need for a taxi. Also, not far from the Thai Consulate for visa business but be sure to negotiate a reasonable price with the taxi driver before getting in to the taxi. Bicycles and motorbike for rent, if required. Would highly recommend Pilgrims Kitchen and Inn if you are going to Savannakhet. Thanks for looking after us, guys! Well done!

Here's a breakdown of why I had such a fantastic experience: Initial Doubts Dispelled: I admit I had reservations when booking due to its "2-star" rating, fearing uncomfortable and unclean rooms. However, those concerns quickly vanished. Bedding Bliss: The beds and bedding were incredibly comfortable and spotless, one of the nicest I have ever slept in, and I have enjoyed 5 star hotels around the world. Immaculate Rooms: The rooms were clean and cozy, with pleasant views overlooking a serene park where families relax and have picnics. Perfect Location: Situated by the riverbank, the location is ideal for exploring Savannakhet. The riverside walks offered breathtaking views. Scenic Dining: The restaurant, set on the riverside deck, was beautifully decorated and offered a diverse and delicious menu. From local dishes to Western and Indian cuisine, there was something for everyone. Popularity: The bustling restaurant was always filled with a diverse crowd, from locals to out-of-towners, a clear sign of its popularity. Exceeded Expectations: My initial reservations turned into an eagerness to stay longer! It's not often you experience such a complete turnaround in expectations. Overall Excellence: From the excellent hotel and restaurant to the prime location and warm, welcoming staff, Pilgrims Kitchen & Inn has it all. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Pilgrims Kitchen & Inn for such a delightful stay. I genuinely hope to have the opportunity to return in the future. If you're looking for a charming and comfortable place to stay in Savannakhet, this is the place to be.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits chez Pilgrims restaurant and inn. Séjour très bien passé. Lieu propre, dynamique et calme. La literie est parfaite. L'emplacement est idéal, non loin du musée des dinausores ( que l'on recommande), d'un parc où les locaux pratiquent leur sport le soir et de tout autre commerce comme barbier/dentiste/coiffeur pour refaire le plein avant de repartir pour quelques jours de boucle en scooter ! En bref parfait pour du repos et une remise à niveau !

I had mixed feelings with my stay. The restaurant served delicious food and drinks with western and vegetarian options. The coffee was excellent, the outside eating area had a large deck with a beautiful view of the Mekong River and sunset. Prices for food and drinks were reasonable, and the people working the restaurant were very pleasant and friendly. The Hotel part disappointed me. I had reserved a deluxe room 3 weeks before my arrival. As soon as I was shown my room I could tell it was not the room pictured on the website and was definitely not deluxe. I asked why I was given this room and the reply was there were no more deluxe room available. They had no answer for "Why did you accept my reservation for a deluxe room." There was no housekeeping during my 3 night stay. No checking in to see I needed more water, instant coffee, towels or toilet paper. I was pretty much on my own with the meager supplies I began with. As another reviewer mentioned the shower curtain had mold growing up the bottom 1/3 of the curtain. A Shower curtain for a small shower stall is very inexpensive and should be changed on a regular basis. If I visit Savannakhet again I will visit the restaurant to eat and watch the sunset but will try a different Hotel/Guesthouse for lodging.

I loved the deck on the river and the restaurant is great too! The room was a bit dark, and the shower leaked, but otherwise a great place!
