Owner is very Nice and helpful

The host was warm and that’s the only positive thing but the stay overall was in a very bad state which makes me wonder how it got such great reviews in the first place. We reached the stay at 7 pm and had to leave early at 4 as we were driving for past 12 hrs but honestly couldn’t sleep at all because of the hygiene issue plus the constant traffic noise despite being located in a lane. The fan had layers of dirt on it because of which we avoided switching it on. The exhaust fan of the bathroom was covered with black layer of dirt, the flow of the water in the washbasin was very less and for 4 people only one bath towel was provided. In short, it wasn’t worth the money at all plus even if it is a homestay, hygiene is of utmost importance and it severely lacked in that area

I booked Mayflower Home Stay in Kannur via Agoda and had a wonderful experience. We arrived two hours early and were left stranded, but our host Mr. Sasidhar stepped in immediately. He kindly allowed us to check in early and made my wife, child, and me feel welcomed. Mr. Sasidhar was extremely courteous, attentive, and went out of his way to help us settle. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained, offering a genuine homely atmosphere. The décor and balcony capture the classic Kerala ambience with lush flora and chirping birds. The balcony is a peaceful spot to relax with morning tea and enjoy fresh air. Wi‑Fi was reliable throughout our stay, which was very convenient. Location is excellent—several famous eateries are within a comfortable 200–300 meter walk. The overall stay felt like a tranquil getaway from city life, perfect for family visits. The property’s hospitality turned a stressful arrival into a memorable experience. Housekeeping is prompt and the common areas are tidy and inviting. Parking and access were straightforward, making arrival and departure hassle-free. Value for money is excellent given the comfort, cleanliness, and service. Communication via Agoda and with the host was smooth and timely. Cons: If you need late-night eating options, the immediate area is quieter after hours. Cons: Rooms are cozy rather than spacious, so larger families may need extra space. Cons: No on-site restaurant, so plan ahead for meals if you prefer eating in. I highly recommend Mayflower Home Stay for family trips or short peaceful stays in Kannur. Many thanks to Mr. Sasidhar for his exceptional hospitality—he truly made our visit memorable.
