Above The Clouds - Chiang Rai

We stayed at Above the Clouds Resort for 2 nights and had such an amazing experience. The resort is owned by a lovely couple who live on the property and make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner are all served here, which made our stay very comfortable. There are also a few restaurants nearby for lunch, so food was never an issue. Fon, one of the owners, is incredibly helpful – a simple WhatsApp message and she is happy to share recommendations on places to visit and can even bring you there if needed. The resort is quite secluded, which is part of its charm. I would recommend buying any snacks or necessities before heading up, as there is no microwave or cooking area in the rooms, so it's best to bring food that keeps well. We rented a toyota yaris ativ, The drive up requires some confidence and driving skills due to the mountain roads, but there's no need to worry about river crossings or getting stuck. Mobile reception is surprisingly good, and the roads are well-paved with cement. If you're looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by nature and warm hospitality, Above the Clouds Resort is truly a special place. We would definitely love to come back again!

I was blown away with the sunrise view from Above the Clouds in Chiang Rai. If you come here be prepared to spend most of your time here. It isn't super accessible to the city of Chiang Rai, but my plan was to get off the grid for a night, so this was exactly what I wanted. Hosts are also great and will help you organize your trips to Pu Chi Fa or any other destinations in the area. I can't recommend this place enough.

We were hoping for something great and above the clouds delivered ! Wonderful stay in a beautiful location on top of the mountain Clean comfortable private accommodation, fabulous home cooked food including afternoon tea on arrival, dinner and breakfast! lovely hosts that even took us on a drive in their car around the villiage. The perfect place to zen out ! Highly recommend

We had an amazing stay at Above the Clouds hosted by Fon and her husband Wouter :) They are very friendly and approachable. They are also very hardworking, serving dinner to our room even when there was heavy rain. The dinner was homecooked thai food. The views from the room balcony were amazing too! Would definitely recommend.

This place is amazing! The views are stunning and the hosts are such wonderful people — they gave us great recommendations and even helped us find a private taxi. The dinner and breakfast were delicious, prepared with so much love. We really appreciate all your effort. The day we spent there was truly one of the best of our trip.
