Twelve years ago, we lived in this building when it was an apartment complex, and it is where I was pregnant with and delivered my daughter. When planning our return trip to Nepal, we wanted to show our daughter her birthplace, only to discover that the building had since transformed into a hotel. ​I booked a stay and reached out to inquire if the management had remained the same. To our delight, it was still run by the same owner, who wonderfully remembered our family. ​From the moment we arrived, the owner was outside waiting to welcome us, and we immediately felt like we were back home. The staff were remarkably kind and attentive throughout our stay, and catching up with the owner after 12 years was deeply moving. ​The breakfast service was another highlight—though simple, it offered several freshly made-to-order options every morning. Whether you are visiting for a short trip or searching for a comfortable long-term stay, this hotel is a fantastic choice. We cannot wait to return!

Best hotel to stay in Kathmandu! A very peaceful locality and very cooperative staff! Coming to a clean and tidy room after a hectic work day was the best part! Would definitely recommend and come back again!

Fresco Retreat was beyond my expectations, and their well serviced and fully facilitated rooms were more than just comfort. Plus the thoughtfulness poured in by the owners and staffs in every little details, were pleasing to stay. Thankyou!

It is suitable for short stays. They only have breakfast, no lunch or dinner. But online deliveries are avaialble even after 10 at night.

​I stayed here for 3 nights and while the property itself is beautiful and located in a nice, less-crowded area, it fell completely short of its 4-star claims. The management is terrible, and many of the amenities listed on Agoda are completely false. ​Our arrival experience was a huge disappointment. We arrived exhausted after a long flight with heavy luggage, only to find the front gate closed and the reception completely empty. When the caretaker finally appeared, he was entirely inexperienced. Despite us having a confirmed reservation, he told us to look at the room first and "decide whether to stay or not"—making us feel incredibly unwelcomed. We only stayed because we were too tired to find an alternative and needed to be in this specific area for personal work. ​The room and amenities were nowhere near a 4-star standard. The bathroom had poor lighting, a strange persistent noise, and a water leak from the washbasin sink onto the floor. To make matters worse, the linens provided were broken and stained. Despite booking as a couple, they only provided a single bottle of complimentary water. Furthermore, the "executive lounge" they claimed to have on Agoda does not even exist. There was also continuous, loud metalwork noise coming from the neighborhood throughout our stay. ​It is a shame because the physical building has great potential, but the false advertising, lack of basic amenities, and untrained staff mean it does not deserve its rating. I absolutely do not recommend it to friends.
