The Cinnamon & Saphan Sufan Resort, Koh Mak

Just go look at the boardwalk. Have your morning coffee there. Go sit down with beverage and watch the sunset. Its perfect!

Location is good. Room is extremely small. They provided me motorbike on rent, but I did not check the condition. It's keyhole lock is broken. I missed watching the sunset while they tried to fix the motorbike. Next day they asked for rent money although I did not use the motorbike. After requesting a lot they let me go without paying. The breakfast had ants in food. It was very difficult to eat by removing the ants from food. Overall the staff is not much friendly. They are very understaffed anyway. There is no shop or restaurant within 1km distance.

You can see this has been a glorious resort. I suspect the years during covid took a heavy toll. So we like unusual. The pool is spectacular. Amazing Value.

We booked it thru Agoda because the pictures and details are absolutely perfect & beautiful and there is an attractive and longest pier on Koh Mak which tourists must visit. We contacted the hotel owner many times to arrange the taxi driver to pick up at the pier. We waited and waited more than 30 mins. That was bad impression. When we arrived at the hotel, it was shocking. It looks like an abandoned hotel which is so old, rotten, dirty, untidy. Trees have grown up and uncut. There were just 2 of us staying in that huge hotel. It should not be called a hotel. It is a ghost castle. Everywhere is so untidy, dirty, has never ever been touched for decade. There are a couple of things which are acceptable are the pier, even it is old and rotten but it is still pretty, the air-conditioning and hot shower in the bedroom. DO NOT TRUST THE PICTURES. It is a cheat !!!!

No longer a child day care and adult spa, but you can explore the old buildings. Only 3 of the pods with infinity pools are in operation, just of the beach. The pool and resort is fed by aquafeur spring water soft and fantastic. We were in the apartment block 2 floors solid build, big room two king size beds. And everything needed, but restaurant closes at six pm. If you have energy hire bike from reception eat and drink elsewhere tho most places close by 10, we loved the peace sound of the garden and sea and rarely saw any other tourists tho 11 rooms occupied. Maybe we are old now but will return. Not A Haunted Resort Yet the Thai Cambodian and Myanmar staff work all thru the daylight . And busy repairs to the iconic 500 metre Pier.Always a greeting and smile may have to use Google translate but always helpful; also modern small "me rooms' by entrance.
