Willen Lodge Hotel

Stayed for a couple of nights at Willen lodge to explore the lake and do Gulliver’s land during the school holidays, very quiet hotel considering kids are of school, Upon check-in the lady at reception allowed us to check in slightly earlier than 3pm due to long journey time to our destination. Upon entering the room, it was basic but just what we needed, somewhere To lay our heads of an evening, the rooms were very hot and stuffy upon arrival due to the heat and noticed no air con in the rooms, however we had a balcony view over the football pitches (although we would have rather had a lake view) and the rooms had a small desk fan which helped of an evening, no smoking or vaping allowed on balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful and although no one was on reception a lot of the time, there was a contact number you could always get hold of someone if needed. The staff also allowed me to use there office to hold our luggage whilst exploring on our final few hours after check out, instead of paying £30 late check out fee. Also in your room was a guide to rules etc and nearest food restaurants, I think the only other thing they were missing was a convenience shop nearby or onsite for evening snacks and drinks, so definitely bring your own, not many facilities on site but many around the lodge. 20mins to the harvester eastlake 10min walk to Gullivers land theme park 10mins to dinosaur land & Animal farm. Situated right on the lake, all activities booked via the website.

Good value, even though the hotel could do with some maintenance. Parking cost is relatively high (not hotel's parking charge)

I enjoyed my stay. Great vieq of the lake. My only complaint was the parking fee otherwise for me it was value for money.

The room had everything you needed but could do with redecorating though perfectly clean. Location is amazing. Ask for view of lake.
