Huangma Yehai International Hotel

Hotel is surrounded by local eateries and convenience stores. However there’s no separation in smoking and non-smoking floors/rooms - not sure if this is a local municipality thing? So make sure you request for one - I was checked into a room that allows smoking first. I requested to change to another one (apparently all rooms allow smoking?) that has lesser smell. Staff was accommodating and cordial.

The room is big, spacious, clean, and well maintained. The location is good, and most of the tourist spots are about 10-20 minutes drive away. The hotel breakfast provided is quite decent, with plenty of food choices. However, the only down part is the hotel allowed their guests to smoke in the hotel, so the hotel has very strong cigarette smell everywhere. Although I requested a non-smoking room, but there was an ash tray provided in the hotel room. Even though I turned on the ventilation exhaust fan and opened the window, with the centralised aircon system, it was unable to get rid of the cigarette smell. Please avoid this hotel if you are sensitive to cigarette smell.

Good location but still searching for those elusive bars in Haikou.

The hotel is so modern, sleek and beautifully decorated. We arrived early morning and the staff is so kind to find a room for us. Thank you as we need the rest. Laundry is available however need to pay. Bottled water is endless. We like the bakery next door.

Overall good 2 nights stay in the hotel. Room is clean and spacious. Breakfast buffet limited selections, mainly with local food (example congee and assorted steam buns). They have a live station for some variety of noodles. This is nice. Location is accessible with shopping mall across/opposite the street. Bakery store downstairs, the bread and coffee are nice and price is good.
