A real Gem !
I booked the Standard Inn as a surprise for my husbands birthday. We were shown to the New Romney room which over looked the street. The room was very spacious,tastefully decorated, clean , airy with a very comfortable bed. It also had a roll top bath in the room with screen provided for modesty , and that was the only problem! The bath was quite high , I’m 4’11 with a dodgy hip 😆 still it made for giggles with my husband trying to get me out !! A little wooden step is provided. We ate both nights in the restaurant, we’ll actually the first night was so busy , this was a Monday too, that we ate in the bar area, the food was delicious and with ample portions. Sticky Toffee pudding with clotted cream comes highly recommended. The following night we ate in the restaurant , same menu, if the Lamb Chops are on the menu when you visit we highly recommend, absolutely delicious with so much flavour, served to us by lovely friendly staff. Michelle and Harry did the Standard proud and made our stay so memorable, in fact all the staff were so welcoming, I’m sure Tim the owner feels proud to have such an establishment with great staff. Would definitely return… thank you guys for making our trip so memorable
