Lovely historic building right in the middle of the old town. Step right out into the Sunday night markets and see the artwork along the walking street. Lovely building

I wanted to give Baan Kong Hostel a positive review because the host was super friendly and did everything to make us feel at home, but unfortunately, my stay was overshadowed by several issues. While the host’s hospitality was top-notch, the accommodation itself left a lot to be desired. The rooms were very basic — nothing special, just simple spaces with metal doors that felt more like a prison than a cozy retreat. The worst part, though, was the noise. It was so loud at night with guests coming and going, slamming doors and talking loudly in the halls. It felt like there was no sense of quiet or consideration, and it made it impossible to sleep. To make matters worse, one of the other guests, who seemed pretty drunk, actually tried to get into my room late at night. I was woken up by them fumbling with the door handle, and I had to get up and make sure they didn’t get in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it was a really unsettling experience and made me feel unsafe. There was no staff around to manage the situation, so it was up to me to deal with it. Overall, the friendly host was the only redeeming quality of this place. But for the price, the lack of comfort, security, and the noise made it hard to recommend. If you're looking for a peaceful, secure, and comfortable place to stay, this is not it.
