We chose to stay at the Imperial because the images online showed a kitchenette, and we thought we could use the stove for cooking. When we wanted to check in no one greeted us, and we had to find a worker in their bar. We asked for a quiet room well in advance (4½ months) but given room 9 which was clean and well-presented except for the noise coming from the Bar until late. On top of that, our room faced the street and the noise from loud cars in the evening, garbage trucks very early in the morning was not conducive to uninterrupted sleep. The kitchenette had no microwave, but a hot plate with no cookware, two mugs and two teaspoons. Apparently, the stove had been deactivated because of fire safety regulations. They should have put a warning about this thing on their booking page The reality is, this recently renovated, revamped accommodation forgot to put somebody practical in charge. For instance, in the HUGE ensuite there is nowhere to place your toiletries or makeup except the floor; there is no power point for styling your hair in front of the mirror (and no mirror in the bedroom/kitchenette). The open plan ensuite with shower, toilet and vanity had no screen or slope on shower which meant water went everywhere making it not ideal if someone else then needed to use the bathroom. Our only window was through the bathroom. The air conditioning cannot be regulated and if you sleep without a blanket you are well cooled. Even though the room and bathroom were renovated but oddly there was nowhere to sit except on the bed to watch the TV that was set high on the wall. We had dinner at the Bistro and ordered chicken schnitzel and MP fish and both were overcooked and overpriced.

We were given an incredibly noisy room located on the Main Street of Murwillumbah. It was very hard to sleep at night even with ear plugs in. Lots of hooning and truck noises. The room itself was pleasant enough with a very large bathroom and nice bed. There was no room servicing, change of towels or replenishing of tea, coffee etc within our 4 day stay. The rechargeable bed lamps lost their charge after a couple of days. Not sure if we were meant to ask for a room service?? We paid a very reasonable price due to an online special and if I received this price again I would definitely stay here, but only in a room located at the back or middle of the hotel.

Very clean and beautifully updated room. I had room 16, nice large room, opening windows. Was away from the external fans, bit noisy over there. Great value, last minute *** for the room, food and bar downstairs was great.

Single room. Very clean. Bathroom big, clean and functional Pillows were perfect There was a two burner cooktop but no pans or utensils No microwave, but the was a toaster & kettle. They supplied ear plugs & I soon found out why. Mattress was too hard for me, and the room was cold, which made a bad night sleep. Would I go back - only if they had a room with softer Mattress. But that's my issue. The room & staff are great.

Quick weekend getaway stay at the Impy. Always a good vibe, food is great and rooms are good. Definitely conveniently located to everything that you might need. Will continue to stay here when in town!
