We stopped over at this traditional village pub in beautiful Yorkshire on the to Scotland for Hogmanay. Great room size for us & our little puppy. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Decor is a mixture of traditional with contemporary in rooms & pub which we loved. Food was amazing, both dinner & breakfast. Staff were friendly & went over & above to make us & our puppy Dave feel welcome & relaxed. I even got an espresso martini which was not on the menu made to perfection. We stopped off for lunch on our way to Yorkshire for the next leg of our mini break but they unfortunately could not accommodate at time desired due to a big party booking. This is testimony to the standard of this pubs hospitality & quality of food. We will definitely be using it again as frequent travellers to see friends in Scotland. A excellent hotel and friendly staff and excellent food also dog friendly

We only stayed one night but very much enjoyed the atmosphere in the pub as well as very comfortable seating in the adjacent room. It was noticeable that the pub was very full of local people eating and drinking on a Sunday afternoon and evening. Very comfortable bedroom.

My partner and I stayed for one night in February. The hotel is an impressive old building. The room was on the small side but clean and warm. There was no TV and when we asked about other rooms we were told that none of the rooms have them. The bed was a king size and very comfortable. We checked the menu for evening meals and there was virtually nothing for my partner who is a vegetarian so we had to find somewhere else to eat. There was live music in the bar which was quite loud in our bedroom but in fairness it finished at 10:30 and the room was quiet after that. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff were lovely.
