퀄리티 인 & 스위트 버지니아 MN

We stayed one night at the Quality Inn in Virginia, MN on our way to Giant Ridge Ski area (about a 1/2 hour drive away) for the final ski weekend of the season. The location of this hotel is great because it’s downtown Virginia and very walkable to local stores and bars/restaurants, including an awesome candy store (Canelake Candies) just a block away. The hotel has a parking lot behind the building, so street parking is not required. The hotel is being updated currently and during our stay that meant the entire pool area was closed! We were disappointed at first because it was unexpected, but it forced us to get out and walk around the city a bit instead, so worked out fine. A sign at the front desk showed April 15th as a completion date, but definitely call them to check before booking if a working pool is important to you. The owners/management seem to be working hard to renovate this old hotel, which I’d imagine is not easy. Our room was a poolside room & had been updated. This used to be Coates Plaza Hotel based on a big sign still on top of the building & still has some of the old downtown hotel charm. You can still see evidence of that in many parts of the hotel. The breakfast was mostly pre-packaged items (muffins, bagels, breakfast sandwiches). They had 2 waffle-makers, coffee, juice, milk, etc…available. I think we’d stay here again, but it might not be for everyone. Hopefully my review helps some people decide if it’s right for them.
