Hayward's at the Grasmere

We had a very pleasant experience at Haywards, but we had specific requirements. If you don't have a car, this is not the place for you. We also did day trips to different locations, so did not want to be stuck in the centre of any city. The staff were exceptional, from the manager to the cleaning staff. All were will to accommodate any request. Being halfway between Bristol and Bath meant the price was quite good, but still had plenty of services close by (walking distance) - a pub, service station, restaurants, etc. Parking was free and, on the property. Breakfast was included. It was simple but well done (cereals and a choice of a variety of hot meals), all individually cooked the way you request. It's a quaint old English guest house so there are steps to every room, and although each room has a bathroom, spacious is not a word that I would use. The bed was queen size however.

Good location, value for money, staff helpful and very clean comfortable room.
