The Cavendish Arms

Stayed here for 2 nights in Cartmel as a base for dining at L'Enclume. The location couldn't be better and the building itself is both a charming pub / restaurant and the hotel. Checking in was easy and all was as expected. the room was a good size, unlike our previous visit where it was tiny. Clean and comfortable with a super bed. The only points of note were i) the TV was absolutely tiny ii) The water in the bath was virtually uncontrollable - either scalding or cold and iii) To shower you needed to kneel in the bath otherwise water would go all over the place. The toiletries were excellent from Bath House. Food and drink in the restaurant was really good if a tad on the expensive side. Breakfasts were made fresh and tasty. All in all a good stay.
