We had an excellent one night stay at Shaftoes when attending a wedding in the area. Lois was very kind and accommodating and we felt very well looked after. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we could need for our stay. Breakfast the next morning was tasty and generous. Thank you for a great stay and we hope to be back for longer next time!

Excellent stay, wish it had been for longer!

We had an excellent one night stay at Shaftoes when attending a wedding in the area. Lois was very kind and accommodating and we felt very well looked after. Well appointed accommodation, within easy walking distance of shops and eateries. Very pleasant proprietor, who also prepares and serves excellent breakfasts. Thank you.

This guesthouse is clean and located in a quiet and safe location. Providing a great base to explore different sections of Hadrian’s Wall. Lois was a delightful host. The breakfast choices are expansive, well prepared and well served. We definitely recommend Shaftoes Guest House.

Our stay in June 22

Right from the off the owners were very friendly. The welcome was great and our stay was fantastic. The breakfasts were excellent and the owners were well informed about the local facilities. They also were good enough to lend us their thermos for our picnic. Would defo stay here again!!!
