Batad Roberto's Abung Inn and Restaurant

I loved our stay here and would highly recommend. It’s a small property, with a standard (non-commercial, almost residential style kitchen), but the staff are great, the view is SO impressive - literally front row seats to the rice terraces. Small dining area where you’ll get to know the handful of other guests who are staying simply because it ‘s so quaint. One thing to note is this is a bit of a hike off the edge of the road. Pack light if you can or hire someone to carry your things. Banaue proper is a bit of a ride (maybe 15-20 mins along mountainous, winding roads) and is the only place nearby with services and where you’d catch a bus or van going to Baguio or other locations, so it is easier to bring everything you need for your stay because you are in a remote location. The staff are very attentive here, helped me celebrate my wife’s bday, and the owner went out of his way on more than one occasion to assist. With that kind of hospitality and service, you’ll feel good. The rooms are simple, but we got by. In room massage was nice overlooking the terraces, and we ordered our meals in advance so they had ample time to prepare. I will stay here again if we go back!

This was one of my favorite trips in 2024! I absolutely loved staying at Roberto Abung’s Inn, the staff were incredibly accommodating, and the view from the room was breathtaking. If you're heading to Batad, definitely book this place. You'll enjoy every moment of your stay!

I stayed here for 3 nights to relax, aside from visiting the iconic rice terraces—and I’m so glad I did. I had a wonderful time at Roberto’s Abung. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming—from my tour guide to the person who picked me up from the saddle point going to Roberto’s. Special mention to Kuya Amor, who seems to know everyone in the community (he even told me they’re all related!). The entire staff at Roberto’s made my stay even more memorable. Ate Rose, who takes care of the guests, was especially lovely. She may seem a bit shy at first, but she’s very accommodating and attentive. She’s also an amazing cook—I absolutely loved her tortang talong (I even ordered it twice!), as well as her banana pancakes and their freshly brewed robusta coffee. When it comes to cleanliness, everything was well-maintained. The rooms were clean, and the bathroom was cleaned every morning. They also offer Wi-Fi for a small fee of 50, and surprisingly, it was fast. One of the highlights of my stay was when they let me experience one of their iconic rooms—the one with a big glass window overlooking the rice terraces—for one night because the original guest didn’t show up. That was such a thoughtful gesture, and I truly appreciated it. Overall, I loved my stay and will definitely come back to book again at this inn. 💛

I had a wonderful stay. If you plan on a staycation, slow paced vacation, this is for you. I can just spent the whole day in the inn with the view. Also try the minor trek I had fun talking to the guide and interacting the locals. You will learn more about the rice terraces.
