The Payang Hotel

Coming from the town itself, I would say this is currently one of the best hotel in the town, as in up to date, modern. Location is fantastic esp to tourist, convenient to explore the area. However, there were some cleanliness concerns that could be improve. The facilities were well maintained and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay, the hairdryer was a quality one, water pressure was great too. In terms of value for money it was reasonable considering the prime location and stay.

New hotel in Kuala Terengganu, located in strategic area, close to Pasar Payang & also the jetty to Pulau Redang. Room is clean & nice, love the boutique feel design. The downside is bit hard to find parking if travel by car, & the sound prof of the room i stayed, which is at the 1st floor, is quite bad. Can hear people talk very loud, hope the management look into this issue.

Stayed here for 1 night. The room was quite small, but still just nice for two of us. The bed was comfortable, and it had almost everything we needed. However, there was no small refrigerator in the room, which was a bit inconvenient. The bathroom was just okay. Since the room is compact, having the sink right next to the bed made it a bit uncomfortable. The hotel is located beside a main road and is within walking distance to Pasar Payang, which is very convenient. Overall, it’s good value for money. If I stay here again, I would probably try a different room type.

I'm told that this is a new hotel. It does look new and updated. Room had good facilities for a business traveller. Love the scent of patchouli in the bath liquid. Clean bathroom. I like the separated toilet and shower area, however I really didn't like that glass wall between my toilet and the next room's toilet area. I can see their silhouette and they can see my silhouette if we're both in the toilet at the same time. It is uncomfortable to do your #1 & #2 business. I wish they replaced it with an 100% opaque wall. My room's safety latch was broken and unrepaired. Another thing is that there's a musty/ sewer smell in the hallway.

The receptionist is very friendly and welcoming. Check-in and out procedure was easy and smooth. The room was decent. Complimentary bottled water and coffee/tea sachets were great to beat the heat. 1 of the 2 towels provided was unfortunately VERY stained yellow-brownish. Floor trap at Shower area was BAD, water ponding almost overflowed into the room. Aside from that 2 issues, it was decent enough for 2D1N. Will book again, but probably another room - kudos to the staff, friendly locals always give the best vibes.
