The Ocean Pearl Dharmasthala Ujire

We recently stayed at the Ocean Pearl Ujire.. The ambience is pleasant, and the rooms are spacious with a large, comfortable bed. Its location is a big plus—during our visit, we explored the impressive Bahubali Statue Dharmasthala, the fascinating Manjusha Vintage Car Museum, and Manjusha Museum. The hotel is also close to SDM College Ujire, which adds to its convenience. Great value for money.

I had a comfortable stay overall and would consider returning, mainly because of some strong positives. The beds were very comfy, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful—special mention to the lady staff, whose professionalism and pleasant uniforms really stood out. The hotel also has a good parking area, which is quite convenient. Location-wise, it’s a big plus, with Dharmasthala Temple just about a 10-minute bike ride away. However, there are a few areas that need improvement. Our room did not have a work desk, which can be inconvenient for guests who need to work. The WiFi was also not very strong—suitable only for basic browsing. There is currently no buffet breakfast available. When we checked with the staff, they mentioned that they are planning to introduce it in the future, which is something to look forward to. While the rooms are decent, the pricing feels quite high for just the room, especially without added amenities like a buffet breakfast included in the package. Overall, a pleasant stay with excellent staff, but better value for money and a few upgrades would significantly enhance the experience.

Summary Ocean Pearl Ujire makes an excellent first impression. The building, entrance, lobby, and common areas look modern and luxurious, especially compared to most hotels in the area. However, once you get to the rooms, the experience doesn’t live up to either the price or the Ocean Pearl brand. Having previously stayed at Ocean Pearl Mangaluru, I expected similar standards, but this property isn’t even close despite charging almost the same room rates. What I Liked * Excellent location right on the main road with easy access. * Attractive facade, lobby, and common areas that feel premium. * Rooms are clean, functional, and well arranged. * Service is prompt and efficient, with staff responding quickly to requests. On a positive note, the team were consistently warm, humble, and helpful throughout my stay, which added meaningful value to the overall experience. What Needs Improvement The rooms feel quite basic for the price. Small details make a difference, such as the missing bedside table and lamp on one side of the bed. Maintenance also needs attention. During my two-night stay, the power went out several times each day, including during the night. The bathroom exhaust wasn’t working, leaving a constant damp smell. The toilet didn’t always flush immediately, and the shower water heater was inconsistent, making it difficult to get a stable water temperature. The Wi-Fi was also noticeably slow. Soundproofing is another weak point. Noise from the corridor is easily heard inside the room, which affects sleep and overall comfort. The biggest disappointment, however, was the food. It was forgettable at best while being priced like a five-star restaurant. The quality simply doesn’t justify the pricing. Final Verdict I stayed here for two nights as a solo traveller. This wasn’t a temple visit—I specifically chose Ocean Pearl Ujire because of my excellent experience at Ocean Pearl Mangaluru. Unfortunately, the Ujire property falls well short of those standards. If you’re looking for a conveniently located hotel with courteous staff, it does the job. But if you’re expecting the same level of comfort, facilities, dining, and overall experience as Ocean Pearl Mangaluru, you’ll likely come away disappointed. The hotel has strong potential, but it needs better maintenance, more reliable infrastructure, improved soundproofing, and significantly better food to justify its pricing and brand reputation.
