Had an unexpected visit to family member, needed somewhere cheap and cheerful for 2 nights sleep. Seaton burn Travelodge was ideal. Not too far from Alnwick, our base for the next couple of days, cheap as chips and really clean, comfy bed. Staff were lovely. Highly recommend if you’re on a budget

New heating not brilliant
New heating radiator fitted into the rooms but only appear to work when they detect movement. So room was cold on first arrival. Carpet needs replacement. Cannot fault the helpfulness of the staff

Was closed when we got there
We had booked a room for a friends wedding a few meters up the road in another hotel. We got there at 1645 to be told the hotel was closed and had we not received an email? Obviously not or we wouldn't have been there. The lady stated that the hotel had been closed since Wednesday (this was Saturday) and they had no contact details to contact me. I had booked the hotel online and had provided my contact details, and have now been contacted via e mail to review so they obviously do have my contact details., We were put in a hotel many miles away so requested a taxi to and from the original hotel which was supplied. The Cobalt Travelodge we stayed in is a new hotel and seems plagued with staffing and other issues, although the Manager Alan was fantastic. We had breakfast. It is served until 11. We went down at 1030 to be told there was no more bacon, beans, mushrooms, the tea boiler was broken, there was no glasses for juice so used mugs etc. We had a sausage sandwich each and then saw a member of staff come out of the kitchen with a huge full breakfast???
