Complimentary optional tour of the castle was detailed, with extensive explanation on the various paintings hanging on the walls. Rooms had the necessary amenities and had a charm commensurate with an old castle. Overall, a nice place to stay.

Lovely two night stay
We enjoyed two nights at the castle. Made very welcome by John and his staff. Fabulous continental breakfast each morning in the light and quiet conservatory. Took advantage of the castle tour, which was fascinating and did some walking from the property in the local area. The nearby Fisherman’s Cot for supper both nights was an added bonus.

Expect quirky
The usual staff were all off when we were there but that added to the fun for us. Immense place, oldest inhabited Castle in England. Slept in the 4 poster

Very good
A lovely castle, with lots of history. Owners are very welcoming and helpful. Took us on an impromptu tour of the castle which was the real highlight of the visit. Would book again.
