A beautiful lodge with stunning views from the large picture window. No expense spared on facilities, right down to the pillow mist & luxurious toiletries. Would love to return one day. Can recommend the Red Skye restaurant nearby, wonderful local food & service.

Ardcana (we stayed in Learach) was stylishly decorated and included many thoughtful details. It has a high-end oven and stovetop and lovely dishes as well; but if you are much of a cook, the cookware and knives are more like playthings (cheap nonstick/dull ikea knives) and there is not even the slightest pantry staple, so you would need to bring oil and any other essentials if you want to prepare food. I don't mind a mini fridge, but the main shelf from this one is missing, so it can hold very little. If you are driving from home, I'd bring a pantry box and a cooler and plan to have the option to eat in, as few places are open before Easter/after Labor Day and most will have long lines or full reservations in the high season. The bedding is nice, the bathrooms spotless, and it's a close drive to many beautiful spots in Skye. There was tea and coffee available, though I have never stayed in a single hotel (not even a budget one) that didn't leave a pinch of sugar (no creamer or milk either), let alone a luxury branded space. You will also be expected to clean and do dishes, though I was greeted with greasy pans from the previous guest. (They must have brought their own oil! ;) The rest of the place was spotless and the drawers perfectly organized. If you are expecting a romantic view, the mountains and water are quite visible from the large picture window, but the sight is somewhat obstructed by clotheslines, multiple vehicles, and a couple of trailer-style houses with some yard debris from the properties in front of the cabins. (You might see less of that from the top/most expensive Ardcana unit.). It's not what I would call secluded, but it is a quiet area and the cabin is peaceful. There is a very nice little modern firepit, but wood is not a 'luxury' that's included and you may not be able to find dry wood at any market nearby. We received no check-in instructions, even after the check-in time arrived, but the host was quick to reply and very helpf
