Excellent from start to finish. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff can't do enough. From check in to check out our experience has been 10/10. ( I didn't get the ladies name who checked us in but she was so accommodating and friendly, certainly made us feel so welcome) Our room was beautiful 303. Little walk through the hotel but it's quirky decor was beautiful. Beds so comfortable and the little added extras, robes slippers, shower gels. Breakfast was superb. Everything you could want from continental to full English.. again staff were amazing and very accommodating, the young lad at breakfast ( again didn't get his name, but if it helps supported Man utd, was super sweet and felt he went the extra mile). And finally ....the spa...wow , wow this was just amazing. Always managed to get a cosy seat to relax ( not sure if this was due to the time of year) but this again is what made our weekend spectacular. Our whole experience has been fantastic. We will certainly return. So pleased we have found such a lovely little gem.

Lovely hotel hard beds
Stayed for 2 nights lovely hotel bit the beds need addressing very hard breakfast good location superb for walking etc and spa was small treatment was overpriced decent value for money

It's ok, overpriced for what you get
The location is excellent and the staff cannot be faulted. Spa facilities are ok at best. Very small sauna and steam room. You would expect much better for the price. Very overpriced.

Ambleside Salutation Hotel - Short Break
Stayed for three nights, bed & breakfast. Club double room with balcony, very pleasant room & view (overlooking a beck & falls), but furniture & bathroom need modernising. Restaurant very pleasant, breakfast very nice, had one evening meal which was good and reasonable value (with the Westmoreland Club discount). Pool and Spa area were excellent, but gents changing room quite small and no toilet. Lounge areas throughout hotel were very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Great location in the centre of Ambleside, surrounded by a good selection of shops, bars & restaurants. An abundance of local walks available from the hotel and several bus routes stop either directly outside the hotel, or at the nearby interchange. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
