Everything about our stay was perfect — the service, the food, and the comfort. We had opted for the river-view room (Room No. 101), expecting to enjoy the calm stream, lush greenery of the Western Ghats, and sunrise beauty. Unfortunately, this experience was overshadowed by some very unpleasant and disturbing issues: 1. A drone was flown twice directly in front of our glass-shield room by nearby inhabitants, causing a serious breach of privacy. 2. We noticed wastewater from multiple resorts being discharged directly into the river, where people were also bathing — creating an unhygienic and unpleasant scene. 3. From morning (7:00 am) until night (9:00 pm), the riverbank in front of our room was occupied by people bathing semi-nude, washing clothes, and throwing garbage, completely diminishing the serene view we had expected. This lack of civic sense, use of alcohol and use loude speaker and non-judicious use of the river disturbed the peace and overshadowed the otherwise premium experience your hotel provides. We kindly request that management take effective measures to prevent such incidents — both to protect guest privacy and to preserve the beauty and environmental quality of the river view — so that future guests can enjoy the true charm of your property without discomfort. Thank you.

Excellent location, just a few steps from the Chalakudy River. The room was clean, nicely done up, and the welcome banana chips and fruits were a nice touch. The valet and driveway staff were very kind and helpful. Dinner was disappointing — the food took too long to arrive, and the fish and chips were actually fish fingers, not worth the price. The hotel has games and activities, but it’s surprising that a 4-star property charges extra for things like archery and shooting, especially considering the high room rates.

Staff and locations are good. But value for money is not there. Also buffet spread was also not upto mark. Overall for this property price can be around 5k to 6k max.

Sterling Athirapally is a very cute and small property right next to the chalakudy river. PRO - 1. The staffs are excellent and amazingly hospitable. 2. The location of the property is amazing and easily accessible for the Athirapally falls and right on the banks of chalakudy river. 3. The food in the property was out of the world good ! If you order a la carte, it takes some time but the quality of the food is really good. Also, the breakfast buffet spread is very very good with traditional Kerala dishes and good options for vegetarians. 4. The resort offers waterfalls trek and jeep safaris for an additional fees. CONS - 1. The resort is relatively small with not much activities possible within the resort. 2. The pricing is quite high for the property but I believe that could be attributed to December peak demand.
