Castelnou was the perfect base for our weekend. We were able to park on site and having the facilities of an apartment gave us flexibility. It was excellent value for money with a substantial breakfast. The apartment was well appointed and quiet. It was a lovely walk into the city centre about 20 mins away. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Competitive price. Near to the centre. Terrific breakfast. Parking place (additionele cost) Bed matras too soft.

This accomodation was ideal for exploring beautiful Ghent, yet because it was a 15 minute walk from the centre, was peaceful and no noise disturbance. The entire aparthotel was spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and all the essentials. The breakfast was fabulous , with everything you could want available. A 10 minute walk took you to Dampoort train station where you can take a train direct to Bruges and Ostend. You can take a train from here ( or take one of the many 70 something numbered buses ) to the main station of St Pieters where trains go to Brussels, Antwerp etc. I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting Ghent.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Aparthotel Castelnou in Ghent for 1 night during our weekend road trip from England, UK. We chose this amazing Aparthotel as it was so close to the city centre, with amazing spacious rooms. But most importantly, it has amazing designated off-road, secure parking facilities for our car. We booked our stay through Agoda. The hotel was absolutely perfect and we couldn’t have asked for anymore! We had a really enjoyable and relaxing stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and 100% would return again. Here is a summary of our experience: Room: We stayed on the Second Floor, Room 208. Soon as we walked in, we was so impressed with how huge the room was! The room was spotlessly clean and immaculate. There was so much storage space, and the fridge was the perfect size to put our drinks and snacks in. The shower is incredible, really good water pressure and easy to use. There is also a hairdryer and complimentary body wash. So handy and saved us on luggage space. The room was really cozy, completely soundproof, and the bed was extremely comfortable and soft. The duvet was so nice, thick and plump. The wardrobe came with hangers so you could hang your shirts. I also loved the coat hanging wardrobe section by the front door. The safe in the room is absolutely huge so you can fit a lot of valuables in the safe and worked perfectly. Staff: Meliesa was absolutely fantastic and responded to our emails and queries extremely efficiently and effectively. During Check-in we was able to go straight into the private parking spot where we was able to reserve a guaranteed spot in advance to our arrival. This was a really nice option as we didn’t have to worry if there would be any spaces left. Check-in was extremely fast, and Meliesa also gave us an amazing guide to Gent and helped us with directions on how to get around. It was such a lovely warm welcome! The staff member in the restaurant are also extremely kind and friendly, and even helped show us how to use the coffee machine. The staff here really are so kind, caring, and can’t do any more to help you during your stay. They go above and beyond and were another reason we really loved Castelnou! Checkout was also extremely easy and fast. Breakfast: We had the buffet breakfast in the morning in the restaurant on the ground floor. There was lots of delicious food options to pick from such as boiled eggs, bacon, rolls and slices of bread (toaster available), natural yoghurt, croissants, fresh salad and fruit, ham, nutella spread, crackers, cereal etc…. Drinks wise there was Orange and Multi Vitamin Juice from the machine, plus lots of nice hot drinks. My favourite was the Hot Chocolate! It was absolutely delicious and the perfect start to the day! Everything was freshly prepared, presented beautifully and most importantly – yummy! Having Breakfast at the hotel also saved us so much time, allowing us to fit in all our sightseeing plans for the day. We was seated immediately by the lovely staff. Location: The hotel is a short walking distance (10-15 minutes) from the centre of Ghent. We didn’t need to use any public transport during our time in Ghent as everything was really close and walkable. Castlnou is the perfect location if you want to explore all of Ghent!
