We booked a room with one king bed for our stay as a couple, but when we got to the room, it had two double beds instead. Since it was already past midnight and we were exhausted, we decided not to say anything then. When we checked out the next morning, I mentioned to the receptionist that I thought we’d been given the wrong room. She first said we had booked a room with two beds. I showed her my booking confirmation, which clearly said we had reserved a room with one king bed. After looking at the reservation, she said the king room was full, so they had “upgraded” us to a room with two beds. That didn’t really make sense, since two beds aren’t much of an upgrade for a couple, and I also don’t understand how a room that had already been booked could suddenly be unavailable. A second staff member then explained that the room we had booked had a problem with the door lock, so they had to move us to a different room. I get that things can come up, but no one told us about the change when we checked in. We only found out after asking about it at checkout. The room itself was fine, and we didn’t have any major issues with our stay. Still, I think the hotel should let guests know about changes like this instead of waiting for them to ask.

Neglected Maintenance and Rude inconsiderate Management
Unfortunately the lock system prevented me from accessing my room for 2½ hours later on the evening. The staff was very kind to allow me to rest in a vacant room during the time my entrance was restored, however, l was unable to access my items l needed to work on to make money. So yes, the staff was wonderful for allowing me to at least rest, however, because of the faulty lock system, my life (and income making ability) was negatively affected yet their GM refused to acknowledge my loss and denied a token refund of $25 that l asked for to make up for TWO AND A HALF HOURS wasted time. Otherwise, the room was fair-to-midland and Jenny, who checked me i n AND let me extend my stay an additional night, was professional and kind.
