The Horse & Jockey

Great location, with friendly staff and locals. We stayed for a couple of nights and the rooms and food were excellent. Very quiet at night too, no heavy doors slamming for instance.

This property offers outstanding facilities, complemented by friendly and attentive staff. The location is perfect for visiting the nearby attractions, and offers fantastic food and some unique breakfast options - I'd recommend the Piggy Hash. Only slight complaint would be about the self-serve hot drinks available for breakfast service. The instant coffee offered appears at odds with the quality of service for the rest of the place. I'd rather see a flask of filter coffee, or to be able to order a cafetière.

Simply superb

Lovely, spacious room. Exceptionally clean with the added bonus of air conditioning. Breakfast was great and plentiful. We didn't have much interaction with the staff apart from Faith who was pleasant, friendly and very helpful.

Had an overnight stay recently on our way up to the North East. Great find, room was immaculate and a very comfy bed . Staff very helpful and friendly. We had a Sunday roast in the evening and the restaurant was very busy .The following morning we had a full English breakfast which was delicious. Definitely recommend. Highly recommend.
