Riana's Homestay

Nice and clean accommodation, the staff is friendly and so helpful. I arrived in the morning, so I couldn’t check in yet, but they did not mind letting me dry my wet clothes in their house.

少々わかりにくいところにはあるが、街も小さいので食事処にも歩いて行ける。円安で費用を抑えたい時にはちょうどよいでしょう。ただ、お湯がちょろちょろなのはチト厳しい。

This place has a very homey vibe to it, I enjoyed my stay here and the home owner was able to give me a great and informative tour of Toraja. Everyone was very kind. I recommend it to those who are looking a a budget stay that is clean, simple, and good energy.

Riana's Homestay is in a fantastic spot, super close to the Alun-Alun Rantepao. Just a heads-up, the road is a bit tight, so it's much easier to get here on a motorbike than in a car. They've got you covered with a bunch of great amenities, like toiletries, towels, and hot water. There's also a water dispenser you can use anytime. And every morning, you get a delicious breakfast of either banana pancakes or egg toast, plus coffee or tea. The rooms are really clean and comfy. Even though there's only a fan, Toraja is pretty cool, so you'll be perfectly fine. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming! One of the coolest things is the atmosphere—it feels like you're staying abroad because most of the other guests are international tourists! All in all, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

The room was large, with large window opening on to a balcony overlooking a lush garden. Amply ventilated. Room and shared spaces very clean. The house is situated away from noisy roads. The neighbourhood is very green with a strong community feel. Great location close to main strip, local market, warungs, transport. I had no transport, but spent many hours walking along quiet, rural paths amongst paddy fields, villages, and many Tongkonan, tombs etc. (sometimes the domestic dogs along lonely paths can be a bit intimidating, but if I wasn't able to shoo them away, usually a villager would quite them for me). The host is a wealth of knowledge on Torajans with many years of experience working as a guide and has a comfortable ease about him (also, his English is excellent). I 100% recommend taking a tour with him. Bring earplugs: loud Christian music and orations start up very close by at around 6am.
