The room was fine and the bed was very comfortable. It was also quiet overnight (apart from some other residents making a bit of noise for a short while at 4 a.m. The staff member I spoke to when I booked in friendly and helpful. The issue for me was the shower, as I slipped when I tried to get out (it had a step up into it, which made it precarious getting out.) As result, my upper left arm went into the metal door frame. I incurred a large bruise to my arm as a result, which is taking a while to heal. up. Unfortunately, I did not have the time to report it as I needed to go out time to report it as I had to go out. The bathroom itself was also narrow and the sink tap was too excessive for the sink itself (plus the towel rail is narrow.) I wouldn't necessarily advise against staying in that room, however I would advise exercising caution using the shower.

Stayed 3 nights. The staff and owners are friendly ,the room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. My room was top floor so its just as well i'm reasonably fit to climb the narrow staircase. Negative points..... My room faced the road, and I could hear the traffic well before 7am. They turn the heating off during the day...on the last day I didnt get a shower as water wasnt hot, also the shower door was partly damaged so couldn't completely close the Shower door. Overall though it was worth the stay.

Definitely some pros and cons here. If you're after cheap accommodation and don't mind it a bit rough around the edges, it's absolutely fine. That being said, a few air fresheners in the hallway to combat the damp smell, some bleach on the bathroom grouting, fixing the hole in the ceiling and moving the awkward shelf in the bathroom that makes brushing your teeth a logistical challenge would be a great improvement. The staff were lovely and the room itself was clean and had everything I needed. The location is fabulous, right next to the station and the castle.

Great value for money, clean bedding and lovely white towels, Great location, next to the train station, lively pub, may not suit older generation, friendly pub
