The Talkhouse

I stayed here for 2 nights and it is in a nice location. Although other than the pub it is connected to there is nowhere else to get food in walking distance. The rooms were basic - bed, kettle chair. The walls were paper thin meaning I could hear the people on one side of me talking until the early hours of the morning then the person on the other side having a shower at 6am. I was shown to my room on the first day of my stay but other than that had no interaction with staff and was not informed about the check out process. It's location is very peaceful and free parking was good (although there were a few large pot holes).

Pub was beautiful. Staff friendly. Couple of small things with menu options. How can you have no beans for breakfast especially as we ordered the previous day. Food very nice.

Just wanted to say thank you to the lovely staff at the Talkhouse, they accommodated by disability without a fuss, and even kept the bar open until we arrived so we could have a nightcap! They clearly have their work cut out keeping the historic buildings in good nick but lovely decor and we always lovely somewhere that allows dogs! And great location off motorway but still in lovely countryside. NB: messages sent here aren't flagged to the Talkhouse so contact them direct. They do breakfast for an extra charge but has to be ordered in advance the night before but we had brought our own so wasn't a problem.

Stayed one night in a very pleasant room off the courtyard garden of a country pub. Near to where our family lives in Headington so very convenient for us and much nicer than a busy ring road location. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a good size. Nice shower room en-suite. Can recommend.
