We booked this hotel as we have enjoyed staying at a couple of De Vere hotels in the past. We chose this particular one as we have relatives in the area. We were not surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of our room. The hotel staff thought we did not pay for our breakfast which we have done! They did find out that we did but every morning we had to talk to the waiting staff at the dining room that we were not trying to eat for free! The ventilation unit in the bathroom did not work and there was no small fridge. Only one chair in the room. Choice of evening meals was ok but no fish and chips on the menu! We will definitely return.

The hotel and facilities are modern and enjoyable. For context, I stayed during (actual) sunny July day. My room did not have any temperature control, so I was forced to have my window open. Unfortunately there was a fair stream of noise from people outside my window that disturbed my sleep a lot. And I still found the room very hot. It’s a lovely place, and I’d probably stay again, but very annoying!

The hotel was lovely, clean and comfortable rooms. Basic toiletries. Very friendly staff. My 8yr old boy loved the swimming pool which was a pleasant temperature too and great equipment in the gym if you wished to use the facilities. Location was great for my purpose of travel to Guildford and surrounding places. Plenty of selection for breakfast with a self serve pancake maker which was safe for my 8yr old to use too!! Did not venture to the estate house but will next time I am there! Breakfast was busy on the Sunday following a wedding at the venue the previous day but food was always stocked and nothing too much trouble for the staff to obtain if stock was low. Only downfall - no room service - tried ringing reception but no answer although receptionist was in attendance when I walked down to receiption ot find out about ordering a drink to the room and was then advised, had to go to the bar myself. Thank fully, reason I was contacting reception was not due to an emergency.

Good stay overall, good staff, no air-conditioning in my room which I didn’t realise but after asking two different people for an air-conditioned room, I had success the second time and swapped the following day to an AC room. Could do with a little bit of a revamp in some areas. Some areas are fine. It would’ve been nice if there was a steam room and a few more health facilities rather than just a pool and basic gym. But I would stay again if the price was right.

No pictures of main hotel when booking. Only of towers in the estate which isn't where our room was. Agoda didn't communicate 2x beds instead of a double & didn't Inc our breakfast selection. The hotel did find a room suitable which we had to wait for but wouldn't honour the breakfast. Reception staff were not friendly at all. Really put us off & gave a terrible first impression. Workman parked in disabled which the hotel knew about but didn't do anything about it. The room was lovely, spacious & the hotel has nice little extras. Free hot drinks & fruit which no-one tells you about. Changing room facilities by the gym & pool are extremely hot & small. Not comfortable at all & definitely would not recommend. Restaurant was nice but expensive. Hotel restaurant staff & sophia were absolutely lovely.
