Good place to stay

The cabins were gorgeous, and despite the cold outside, the interior was very warm thanks to the floor heating and air conditioner. Beautiful unblocked views of the surroundings. Staff were extremely warm and welcoming. Do visit the bar!

Bracken does some things really well: comfy beds, cozy cabins, great breakfast. Some things that could use improvement: a better system for carting guests to and from cabins, a review and revamp of dinner menu so quality matches price, and - while staff is very friendly and kind - more attentive staff that stays on top of details and timing.

Rooms are quite small and claustrophobic to an extent, the toiletries were on the floor, our trash was left in the bin for some reason even after the cleaning, breakfast staff some are nice some are a bit reserved. Overall it is not worth the money, except the location which is quite picturesque but you could also see that on a visit to the restaurant

We stayed at Bracken Hide Hotel from 3rd to 5th July and had mixed feelings about our experience. To begin with the positives, the room itself was beautiful, clean, and offered a stunning view. The property is undoubtedly picturesque and has great potential to provide a memorable stay. Unfortunately, our overall experience was overshadowed by a few major issues. Our room was located at the very top of the hill, and we were not informed in advance that there was no guest transport or buggy service available to help reach the rooms. My wife has an existing knee condition, making the steep walk extremely difficult. I explained the situation to the staff and requested assistance. While I was told the luggage buggy could not be used for guests due to safety concerns, no alternative solution was offered. I also requested if we could be moved to one of the lower rooms, but this was not accommodated either. As a result, my wife had to repeatedly walk up and down the hill throughout our stay, which caused her considerable discomfort. Equally disappointing was our experience during breakfast. One of the female staff members (whose name I unfortunately don’t remember) came across as noticeably unwelcoming. As Indian guests, we genuinely felt we were treated differently. When we placed additional breakfast orders, her facial expressions and attitude made us feel as though we were asking for something unreasonable rather than simply enjoying the breakfast included with our stay. Hospitality should make guests feel comfortable and valued, regardless of where they come from, and sadly that was not our experience. If you have mobility issues or are travelling with someone who does, I would strongly recommend confirming room accessibility before booking, as the property’s layout can be challenging and assistance may not be available. This hotel has an incredible location and beautiful rooms, but great hospitality is what truly defines a memorable stay. Sadly, that was missing during our visit, and it left us disappointed.
