The room was very nice; just like the photos. The shared bathrooms were very clean, with large comfortable showers. Everything was newly and attractively renovated. Having a sink + tea/coffee making facilities in the room was great. Easy walking distance to the train station, with bus stops right outside heading to all the local attractions. No accommodation in Australia is cheap but, compared to alternative options, this is good value and I would definitely stay again for any future visits to Newcastle.

Great room with comfortable bed and block out curtains. Parking is free at rear of hotel. The amenities are spotless with plenty of space to hang clothes away from shower and the shower pressure is great. Good and drinks in pub are awesome with coffee shop close by too.

Great pub atmosphere downstairs, good sized carpark at rear. Rooms are code accessible only and staff provide written instructions. Bathrooms are shared but spotless and there is a also an area to sit and comfortably eat dinner or relax nearby to rooms. Beds are supremely comfortable and blackout curtains help with a great night's sleep. Some noise from pub but not enough to worry a sound sleeper. Great shower pressure. Often stay here. There are stairs to rooms on top floor.
