Villament Zinc Journey by The Fern, Karjat

It's a quaint beautiful resort. Had gone with my family during Diwali. The positives are beautiful rooms, very clean bed and bathrooms. The property though small it's beautifully maintained. My disappointment is the restaurant and services. The restaurant for is good but since their tandoor wasn't working and Chinese was not available options were very limited. This was the starting of the problem. The second day of our stay they got a bday order so they suddenly told us no lunch will be available. After many enquiries they finally offered evening snacks and buffet dinner. The evening snacks again took an hour to be served it was almost dinner time by then and buffet was 699/- per head so we rather ordered from the mejwani restaurant nearby. The used plates from previous night room service weren't picked till we repeatedly asked then to. The water and refills were also not done until we requested.No information was forthcoming, it was only told to us when we enquired. Luckily for us this mejwani restaurant existed otherwise there is nothing nearby and we would have been really stuck. All this ruined the experience for us. This review would have been 5 stars rating if not the shortfall in service and hospitality. I understand it was Diwali but still informing guests and keeping them in mind is bare minimum.

This place is for a week end getaway. Location is at the old Mumbai Pune highway. Though it says Karjat as location it closer to Panvel near the Hiranandani Fortune city. There are some places to visit nearby like the NDa film studio. Rooms were exceptionally clean. Swimming pools are well maintained. Suggest the rooms with the plunge pool (4 ft dept) as the best option. We upgraded the room the next day for an experience. It was worth it. The plunge pool is private and surrounded with plants so keeps the place shaded and cool thus better than the main pool. We travelled in March when the summer had already begun. Lots of open space; near the main swimming pool and two gardens. Ample space for walking. The game zone had a Pool table (unusable / not maintained),carrom, chess, table tennis but these can be maintained better to keep the children engaged.

It's very close to Mumbai and Thane. With a four wheeler you'll have a journey of max 2 hrs. The place have mountains on both sides. Place is near and great to relax. Food of the restaurant is good but little on the higher rates. They have indoor game facility, outdoor kids playing area, swimming pool, big lawn for outdoor games and party. Very good place for couples and families to relax.

As property is near highway vehicle Room need to have soundproof glass too much disturbing noise.

It's a good property now managed by Fern.
