Windmills Hotel Apartments

Despite some bad reviews we read, we were pleasantly surprised, the rooms were a little tired but currently being refurbished, the food was fabulous, the cleaners worked tirelessly, the staff were helpful. The pool and area was clean as were the grounds, a launderette on site was useful at only €4 for an 8kg wash. There is a huge children's play area and a short walk to the beach.

Very helpful and polite staff. Windmills is an excellent place to stay close to many bars and restaurants in Pernera. It also provides excellent entertainment for those who do not want to wander far from home. Food is excellent, I can highly recommend the breakfast.

We booked for 8 nights. We had a great room with everything we needed. The aircon was *** per night but we knew this beforehand and we paid on arrival for the duration of our stay, the aircon was definitely worth it and worked well so we didn’t mind the additional cost. The hotel has all the facilities you need, including a laundrette. It was great value for money. The only thing I would mention is it is about a 30 ish minute walk to the Protaras strip but you can walk along the sea front and there are lots of bike / quad bike rentals if you wanted to do that.

Right of the bat, they have two air conditioners that are aproximatelly 40 years old and barely working, and they charge you 10 euros for each one, per day. On top of that, the first day, air conditioner broke, and they had to call a handyman to fix it, which he did 4 times that day, untill it finally worked. The furniture was filthy, and old, there was no soap, no dish washing soap, barely any kitchenware. There was no wi-fi in the room, despite being said in the description that there is wi fi in every room. Food in their restaurant was terrible, and they tried to "give" us something to drink a few times despite refusing every time. Their english is pretty bad so the communication was hard. Also they send the cleaning lady that just barges in your room, not giving a damn if you are naked, sleeping, or just resting. Water pressure was low, and there was no hot water on few occassions. The beds in the bedroom were extremely uncomfortable, we would wake up stiff every morning. Also, at the enterance they have a parrot Freddy, that is locked up 24/7 in front of the entrance, with loud music all the time, it looked like it was in really bad shape and traumatised, so add animal abuse to all the things said above. All in all, terrible, wouldnt reccomend it to my worst enemy.

The location is nice but the facilities are dated
