While staff and the common areas are great, the building and management has serious problems. The AC worked poorly and I had to move to a different room where the AC worked better but still couldn't cool lower than 23C despite the outside weather only being around 25C. The shower water temperature would alternate between warm and scalding hot. Electricity would occasionally turn off in the room, and the bathroom mirror light flickered. Room phones didn't work in either room until I complained, and the staff rewired it to be charged. The wifi in my room was slow, around 3 mbps, making remote work more difficult. I also found the room furniture uncomfortable, and the room door was heavy and difficult to open and close. Later, I learned this building was designed to be a university and ultimately converted to a hotel, which may explain some of these shortcomings. I also endured a bizarre incident where I asked the concierge to have my room towels and water to be replaced (no cleaning), but the maid decided to clean anyway and took away my shopping bag with personal belongings, thinking it was trash. I was horrified to find it missing and demanded it back. My bag came back full of garbage. This is absolutely terrible and unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. To their credit, the management made up by offering free laundry service, but I'd rather not have my personal things touched, period. On the upside: the restaurant has amazing breakfasts and the best adjari hachapuri for dinner. The outside rooftop pool is amazing, and the fitness center and spa are big and offer many options. The private room terrace has a nice view. Location is minutes from the beach and boardwalk, and from old town.

The hotel staff , the location, the atmosphere are all great. The price isn't the best but reasonable. Also I booked a sea view room , but it was on the fifth floor so it wasn't the best view. The hotel is not the tall tower it's the building next to it. Over all I enjoyed my stay and would recommend if you want a true 5 stars hotel experience.

Unfortunately, our experience at Le Méridien Batumi was very disappointing and did not feel like a 5-star hotel experience. We had several problems: 1. We got stuck in the elevator. 2. The fridge in our room was full of water and did not work. 3. We arrived at 3:30 PM, and our room was still not ready. 4. The toilet in our room was clogged. We asked for someone to come and fix it, were told that someone would come immediately, but no one came. 5. We did not receive any fruit basket or small welcome gesture in the room, which is something we are usually used to receiving in 5-star hotels. 6. The shower hanger fell by itself. 7. Our towels were taken from the room and were not replaced with new ones, which is a very basic standard in any hotel. Overall, this was not the experience you expect as a guest who paid for a 5-star hotel. When you pay this kind of price, you expect to enjoy your stay and relax. Instead, we constantly had to deal with one problem after another. The only positive thing I can mention is the staff. They were very kind, polite, and gave us the feeling that they genuinely wanted to help. However, this does not make up for the many issues we experienced during our stay. To summarize, for the same price, you can probably find much better hotels that actually justify the cost. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Everything is perfect

Had a fantastic stay, the only disappointment was that the outdoor pool wasn't open yet on May 18 as it's not the summer yet. For someone living in the UK 20+ degree was definitely pool weather but understand that summer is defined a bit differently at the black sea :)
