Me and my partner decided we would have a getaway for a few days from Yorkshire to Edinburgh. We booked the castle standard room, and was upgraded as soon as we arrived, to the next room up. The room was very setting of the era the castle would have been around. The room came with an amazing variation of tea, coffee and even hot chocolate. The bathroom included vanity shampoo, conditioner and body wash, with a shower cap, soap and a vanity kit including cotton buds and tips. The bar area was really calm, quiet and very inviting. The drinks were lovely, and there was an excellent array of spirits and drinks. The bar staff, the receptionists and the night porter were all very pleasant. Very approachable and easy to talk to. Unfortunately we didn’t eat, so we can’t comment on the food, but we did see a few plates and they looked incredible. I would recommend to couples and families alike. It’s a lovely place with a massive amount of Greenland. A lovely place to explore! We ended up booking another night and staying again the day after, and we still weren’t ready to go home. Great location if you drive, but maybe a little more out the way if you are using public transport. The driveway is about a mile long. There is a Tesco extra very local (5min drive), as well as a McDonald’s, Starbucks etc. Overall, we had a very lovely stay, and we are talking about coming up again already! Thankyou to all the reception and bar staff we met, it was perfect. :)

Staff was great, the room was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the picturesque scenery, friendly staff, very good food and lovely grounds. It was so warm and cozy sipping cocktails in the bar and looking out the window at the beautiful grounds and horses. An absolute delight and I would highly recommend.
