Staff are friendly and helpful, location is convenient if taking a break on a journey or visiting nearby. Rooms are clean and tidy, really quiet, but the shower is very weak and the bathroom door doesn't close properly. Food at Elements restaurant was really poor, the festive menu was a dry old slab of turkey breast that tasted like if had been in Bernard Matthews freezer for 3 years and the sea bass my wife had was the smallest piece of fish over ever seen. Looked like half a fillet the size of a goujon for what is supposed to be a main course. Seating is dirty and the communal areas of the hotel are not as clean as the rooms. Breakfast was basic but had some variety with hot & cold food. Stay if the location suits your needs, but better off eating elsewhere.

Needed a room for one night for a sports tournament in the university next door . Very clean hotel , room has everything you need , and breakfast was good too , hot and continental served .

We needed a simple overnight stop, the comet was in the right location and at a resonable price. Staff friendly, room clean and warm. Only downside was that the bed was a twin linked togeher and a little hard.

First time staying at The Comet. Nice clean and modern hotel with friendly staff. Convenient location.

Stayed for a wedding and it was a great hotel with good check in and out times, White Company toiletries and everything you could need for an overnight stay, including biscuits and tea making facilities too.
