PULUONG BOCBANDI RETREAT

Good place with good services. The staffs were really nice. The place was really big. The only minus was the location. It was not really near to any attractions and no tour offered. The place was located on the hill side, so you cannot really enjoy the paddy field view.

On the one hand, this place is beautiful and in a stunning location. The grounds are very pretty and the view is incredible. On the other hand, the staff are not helpful. They are very polite and nice, but nobody speaks English at this resort. I get it that we're out in the country side of Vietnam, English is uncommon, but for a resort of this caliber I would expect at least one person on site with good English. We struggled for an hour with the ladies at the front desk trying to change rooms. The manager at the time of our check-in spoke basic English which thankfully was enough for us to deal with our issues. Do not book the "deluxe mountain view" rooms unless you want to hike for 5 minutes to the very top, back of the resort. Past reception. Past the pool. Past the restaurant. Alllll the way to the top back up multiple sets of stairs. The room does have a great view, but it is not advertised as being so strenuous to get to your room. Especially in the extreme heat of Vietnam after a long day of activities. The issue we had was the stress of getting to the room and we are active people. It was quite brutal. We requested a different room but the one they offered smelled very strongly of mildew and mold. So we said we were going to cancel our reservation and go to a different resort. The manager then spoke to us and upgraded us to villa 02 which is much closer to the bottom and close to the pool. Awesome! Thank you so much for doing that, Bocbandi. We appreciated that so much and the room was beautiful. However, after staying in the room, my partner had a large number of bites around her upper body, arms, neck, and head. We can't say for certain it was bed bugs, but it was something. Not mosquitos. I attached a photo of the bites. I wouldn't stay here again because of this, combined with the issues we had trying to communicate with the staff. We would give 5 stars for cleanliness of it were not for getting bitten all over by what we suspect is bedbugs. That's not the cleaning staff's fault, though. The manager made it right regarding the room in the end, which we are very grateful for, but overall we were left with a feeling of frustration staying at this resort.

My wife and I had a lovely stay at Bocbandi, it was exactly what we expected for the price we paid. The whole of Pu Luong is set on the side of a steep slope, and so the hotel is carved into this precipitous angle; because of this there are steps everywhere, and you have to walk up and down them. THIS IS NOT A SUPRISE - Bocbandi is on a hill! Loads of reviewers have complained about all the steps and I just had to make a point to say that if you're staying on a hill then expect some ups and downs! The bed was comfortable and everyone was friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast isn't amazing, but it's what you should expect for the money. The meal we had delivered to our room on the first night was bloody excellent and it surprises me that they can't put the same effort into the breakfast on offer. Cheerio and keep it real!

The room was really lovely. Loved the pool and complimentary breakfasts. Is set on a steep hill so lots of stairs to get to the restaurant and higher accommodation - won't suit travellers who have trouble with steps.

Room was spacious, staff was helpful and attending. F&B can be improved, overall a decent option within the area worth exploring
