Basecamp staff is really friendly and super helpful. They were able to accommodate my stay for 2 nights in the same room since I had to book two separate rooms because I was unsure if I was going to stay longer or not. The view is stunning of the Narvik city over looking the ocean and the mountains. However, I was devastated because I couldn’t see the Northern lights even though the pictures of the rooms when booking did. It was very cloudy and being high up in the mountain didn’t helped. Some guest say some have seen them others haven’t been able too like me. Basecamp IS NOT transportation friendly. ACTUALLY NARVIK in general is NOT transportation friendly. You must rent a car to stay at Basecamp because your only form of transportation is taxi, which is €20-30 each way. It’s a 40 minute walk down and up a hill from the city. Basecamp is truly for people who LOVE to ski or snowboard their mountain is the BEST facility for that, but NOT for your Northern lights vacation.
