Stayed for a night; Mixed experience & Misled by social media posts
The location—especially the view from the hotel—is very good. But don't compare with Uttarakhand hill experience. The staff were courteous and the food was genuinely good, which I enjoyed a lot. However, that’s where the positives ended for me. Cleanliness was a major letdown. The bedsheets, floors, and even the dining area were far from clean. Parking was also inconvenient—you’ll likely end up parking on the roadside, albeit under camera surveillance. The road leading to the parking area is quite unsafe (I am an avid traveller, but this is the first time I faced such a situation) and poorly maintained. Although there is space for about 3 cars, parking still felt like a challenge. Accessing the property involves climbing multiple uneven steps, which can be tough on the knees, especially for older guests or those with mobility issues. This is a pet-friendly property, which is appreciated by many. However, during my stay, I witnessed a dog being allowed onto a table and it started licking the salt and pepper shakers—the owner of the dog & staff took it casually. While I have nothing against pets, this experience was extremely off-putting and made me feel like leaving the dining area immediately. Basic hygiene protocols, especially in shared eating spaces, should be enforced more strictly, even in pet-friendly accommodations. The wooden cottage room had a very unstable floor, reminiscent of scenes from the movie Welcome—funny in a movie, but not so much when you’re living it. They could have paid some attention to maintenance and guest comfort, this place could really shine given its fantastic location. As someone who travels very frequently, this is the first time I’ve encountered such a disappointing experience despite such a promising setting.
