AA Homestay

We stayed just one night before moving to stay in park accommodation. Bed was comfortable. Food was ok. Nowhere very comfortable to sit in the evenings, a sofa would be nice. No mesh on louvre windows in common area so mosquitoes and massive bugs were whizzing round lights in the evening and we saw a mouse running round. Bedrooms are bug proof though. Location is very good.

I stayed at this place earlier this year when I visited Mulu National Park. As you may know, some of the accommodations there are rather on the more pricier range, and this one is still a bit more on the more expensive range compared with other accommodations in Malaysia. On the other side you also have to realize that this part of Malaysia is really remote and infrastructure is rather limited. You basically have the airport and a few houses in front of the National Park, and that's it. Everywhere else is just forest. So in consideration of that, I would say that AA Homestay is alright. The rooms are rather basic, but clean and do what they are supposed to. The staff i.e. the family is really nice and welcoming too. If you go with the correct expectations, you will enjoy your stay here.

All facilities and staff were good. Overall, it was okay and acceptable. It takes around a 5–10 minute walk to the airport and about 5 minutes to the entrance of Gunung Mulu National Park. Recommended.

I stayed there for 3 nights and had a great time. Everything was as in the pictures and as described. It's a 5 minute walk to the park where you spend most of your time anyway. There is a small menu and you can eat well for little money.

Harga makanan dan minuman sangat berbaloi dengan size hidangan. Bilik ada netting, boleh buka cermin dan tutup apabila hujan. Tiada complimentary toiletries, perlu bawa sendiri ya. Mengambil 4 minit atau kurang untuk berjalan kaki ke Mulu National Park. Keluarga tuan rumah sangat membantu dalam mencari khidmat pengangkutan ke lapangan terbang apabila kapal terbang saya telah diawalkan dari jadual. Moga dapat kembali dan menginap di sini untuk next adventure ke Pinnacles tahun depan.
